A Case of Thrombocytopenic Purpura Followed by Live Attenuated Measles Virus (Lirugen) Vaccination

Abstract
A 9-month-old girl developed purpura five days after the vaccination of the live attenuated measles virus vaccine (Lirugen). On the day of purpura developed, a platelet count was 59, 000 bleeding time was 15 min. 40 sec. and the bone marrow showed megakaryocytes were adequate in number but poor platelet formation. Spontaneous recovery resulted in the 23th post vaccination day with the platelet count reaching 180, 000.
