- Abstract
- We have obsarved 269 casss of premature babies, who had been taken care in standard incubator, on mortality rate comparing with Apgar score, body weight at delivery stage, duration of pregnancy, age of mother, season and sex. 1)Mortality rate of lower Apgar score at delivery is rather higher than that of higher Apgar score. 2)Mortality rate in each grade of body weight is as follow; 87. 3% in 1, 000 gm. or less, 60. 5% in 1, 001 gm. to 1,500 gm, 21. 4% in 1. 501 gm. to 2, 000 gm. and 5. 3% in 2, 001 gm. to 2,500 gm. 3)Mortality rates of of each duration of pregnancy are as follows; 87. 0% in 7 months, 59. 5% in 8 months, 20. 9% in 9 months and 4. 3% in 10 months. 4)Each mortality rate in age of mother is as followi 100% in below 20 years, 25. 9% in 21 to 25 years, 23. 9% in 26 to 30 years, 23. 3% in 31 to 35 years and 42. 3% in above 35 years. 5)Each mortality rate in season of delivers is as follows; 23. 2% in spring, 37. 0% in summer, 24. 6% in fall and 18. 2% in winter. So we observed high mortality rate in summer and high incidence in winter. 6)Each mortality rate in sex is as follows; 26. 7% in male and 24. 3% in female. Mortality rate of male is higher than that of female but incidence is higher in female.
