- Abstract
- This is report of a newborn with pulmonary hypoplasia, associated with congenital diaphragmatic hernia, which is very rare. It is one of the emergency case of the neonatal period since the abdominal viscera in the pleural cavity cause severe cardiopulmoary embrassment. A review of the literature, even in recent years, reveals a high mortality of this anomaly, if left untreated. This 2 hour old postmature male infant weighing 4, 600 gm was born at P. M.C hospital after a normal pregnancy and delivery. He showed a huge, left sided, posterolateral hernia (Bochdalek type
