Abstract |
Posterior urethral valve is the most common obstructive abnormality in male children affecting
both kidneys and likely arise from maldevelopment of the mesonephric duct.
We have experienced a case of posterior urethral valve with urinary ascites in 10/365 year old male
neonate. Abdominal distension, oligouria, and azotemia were improved by urinary catheterization.
Pelvo-ureterostomy operation was done, and this case had excellent results with much improved
urinary stream and general condition after operation.
We report this case with brief review of literatures. |
