Abstract |
Prick skin test was done on 129 cases of allergic disease children who were admitted to the
department of pediatrics, Taegu Fatima Hospital, from July 1987 to June 1988.
The results were following:
1) Among the total 129 cases which were positive reaction in prick skin test, the sex ratio was 4
to 1 with male predominance. The peak age incidence was 5 to 6 year of age. (31.8%)
2) Blood Eosinophila was 79%. Nasal mucus Eosinophilia was 76%.
3) As the age increased, total IgE value was higher value. Through all the age group, total IgE
value was higher than control group.
4) Allergens with the most common positive reaction were DF in 98.7%, DP in 89.1%, HD in 12.
5%.
5) As histamine wheal size increased, total IgE level showed higher value. But there was no
correlation between histamine wheal size and allergen number.
6) In major allergens such as DF, DP & HD. which were positive skin reaction, positive RAST
frequency was also high. In contrast, animal epitheliums such as cat, dog, horse, had low positive
RAST frequency.
7) There was no correlation between total IgE and specific IgE ab against DF & DP. |
