Abstract |
Infantile cortical hyperostosis occurs in the first few months of life, and is characterized
by hyperirritability, swellings of the soft tissues, and cortical thickenings of the underlying
bones. It's cause is unknown. Recently we experienced a case of infantile cortical hyperostosis in a 2 month old male infant, who complained of irribility, anorexia, swellings and bowing deformities of the lower limbs.
The diagnosis was established by radiological findings that showed mild to moderate periosteal new bone formation on the both clavicles, humerus, femurs and tibias. We made a brief review of literature.
