Abstract
We observed 220 cases of acute glomerulonephritis that were admitted to the depatment of pediatrics, Severance hospital during the 10 years period from J962 to 1972, since we had reported 81 cases in 1962. The results were as follows: 1)The sex incidence was higher in boys than in(girls and the ratio was 1. 8:.1 and the age incidence was highest in the age of 7~9, and the seasonal incidence in autumn, which were similar to 10 years ago. 2)According to predisposing infections, upper respiratory mfections showed the highest percentage, 67.3%, which was increased than 10 years ago. 3)The most common chief complaints were edema 88.1%, heniaturia 50. 1% and oliguria. 28.1%, and hematuria was slightly increased than 10 years ago. 4)The first urinalysis after admission showed proteinuria 83. 6% and hematuria 93.3%, and the group A beta hemolytic streptococci were cultured in only 7 cases, 3. 2%, from throat culture. 5)Hypertension was seen in 43. 6%, whicd was slightly decreased than 10 years ago. 6)Complications, which were acute renal failure, hypertensive encephalopathy and congestive heart failure, showed in 20.9%, which was slightly increased than 10 years ago.
