The author, investigated the change of urinary amino acids excretion in rabbits after fasting and administration of cortisone, by paper chromatography. In this experiment. 9 rabbits with average body weight of 1.8 kg were chosen, and were devided into three groups; normal, fasting, and fasting with cortisone group. Before testing, the urine was desalted by electric desalter. The results of this investigation were as follows; 1)In the urine of normal rabbits glycine, glutamic acid, serine, and alanine were always detected and additional to above kinds of amino acid, cystine and cysteic acid were also detectable intermittently. 2) The excretion of alanine in the urine disappeared
from 3rd to 7th day of fasting, and on the other hand, histidine began to appear about same time in fasting group.
3)The changes noted in fasting group seemed to be accelerated by administration of cortisone, and BAIB
aud taurine were found only in the last group.
