Abstract
Congenital diaphragamatic anomaly is a rare congenital malformation and is found more frequently on the left side than the right side. We had experienced two cases of congenital diaphragmatic anomaly on the right and the left side. One case was 1 year old male infant which was admitted with chief complaints of fever and mild cough. The diagnosis was confirmed by physical finding of audible peristaltic sounds on the left chest, chest X-ray, upper G-I series and other special studies. The hernia was successfully corrected by operation. The another case was 4 hours old male newborn infant which was brought to emergency room of In Cheon Gil Hospital with chief complaints of dyspnea and cyanosis, which was through to be congenital diaphragmatic hernia of the right side. On autopsy, a large right diaphragmatic defect resulting massive diaphragmatic hernia and ipsilateral pulmonary hypoplasia were found. The authors report the case with review of pertinent literatures.
