Abstract |
True hermaphroditism is the most uncommon variant of intersexuality in the human beings
A case of truehermaphroditism contains both ovarian and testicular tissue.
Author’s eight cases of true hermaphroditism are described with 373 cases reviewed in the literature.
Three cases show lateral ovary and testis, one bilateral ovotestes, one ovotestis-testis, one ovotestis, ovary and two undetermined. 46 XX chromosomal complement is the most common cytogenetic findings, occuring in five
cases. Five cases are treated as functional male and one as functional female.
