Abstract
An autopsy case of a total anomalous pulmonary venous return in an one year and two month old Korean male infant is presented. Five pulmonary veins made a common pulmonary vein and drained into superior vena cava 1.5 cm. above the caval entrance of right atrium. Right atrium was enormously dilated and so was the right ventricle with the wall thickness of 1.0 cm. There were two atrial septal defects and a large patent ductus arteriosus was present. Left heart was hypoplastic and so was the ascending aorta. The embryogenesis, incidence, classification of the anatomic types the incidence of the individual type, and the prognosis of this anamaly is reviewed and discussed.
