Abstract |
Choledochal cyst is a rare congenital disease. Further more, the onset in fetal life or newborn
period is a extremely rarity throughout the world, and almost cases reported by many authors
had more than two symptoms among the classic triad of abdominal mass, jaundice and upper
abdominal pain.
Our patient was a 27 days old female baby with the chief complaints of severe abdominal
distension (which was maybe due to abdominal mass) and frequent vomiting since birth.
Otherwise, gross jaundice and upper abdominal pain was not noted.
On 6th admission day, exploratory lapartomy wa's done and choledochal cyst of 15 cm diameter
with distal atresia was confirmed. She expired at 9th postoperative day.
We presented a case with the brief review of the literature.
