Abstract |
Congenital choledochal cyst is a rarity throughout the world and its symptoms are variable and its diagnosis is not very easy. Several cases have been reported in Korea and they had more than two symptoms of the classic triad such as abdominal mass, jaundice and upper abdominal pain. A case of congenital choledochal cyst found in an 11 3/12 year old female has been presented. On admission some of acute surgical abdomen was strongly suggested because she had only upper abdominal colic and vomiting for 24 hours. However, having similar episodes several times yearly for 8 years. We did an Intra-Venous Cholangiogram which showed a double gall bladder feature. Subsequently dilatation of the common bile duct was found at abdominal exploration. She was discharged on
the 7th post-op. day without any complication after choledochoduodenostomy and doing well so post-op. 9 months.
