Abstract
The authors observed 34 cases of the diagnosis of Landry-Guillain-Barre syndrome at Deptof ped., presbyterian Hospital, Taegu and Attached children Hospital during 4 years and 8months from Jan. 1970 to Aug. 1974. The results are as follows: 1)It was found that there is a trend to increasing frequency in the recent years, and that the seasonal incidence was relatively high in Summer. 2)The age incidence was peak in preschool age between 2 years of age and 6 years. Twenty three cases were found in male and 11 cases were famale, in a sex ratio 2.1 to 1. 3)Seventeen cases of the 34 had preceeding illness, 13 of which were upper respiratory infections in nature. 4)On admission, all of them complained of muscle weakness or paralysis and body temperatures were nearly within normal limit. 5)Albuminocytologic dissociation of cerebrospinal fluids were detected in 31 cases and the remaining 3 cases were found no increase in protein level. 6)Thirty cases of the 34 were improved (88.3%), 27 cases of them were improved within 6 n onths and 3 were dead (8.8%).
