Abstract |
They say that paroxysmal atrial tachycardia is not common in childhood. One case of paroxysmal atrial tachycardia combining with congestive heart failure in 9 months old male infant which had been experienced was presented and reviewed briefly. He was admitted to the Holy Family Hospital with the complaints of irritability, breaths
heavily and puffy face. On physical examination, chest X-ray and electrocardiography there were hepatomegaly, cardiomegaly and pulmonary congestion. Heart beat was 280/min. but regular. Stimulation of vagal nerve reflex was attempted firstly but failed. It was responded by digitalization with digoxin. There was no sign of Wolff-Parkinson*White syndrome after recovery in electrocardiogram.
