Abstract |
We have observed 3, 759 children patients (excluding orphans), classified by disease, age, sex, and season, who were admitted to out hospital during the past 5 years-1963 to 1969. In classifying the disease, the following results have been obtained: of the total 3,759 patients, 1,172 (31.19%) were infectious diseases, 817 (21. 73%) were respiratory diseases, 743 (19. 77%) were new, born diseases and 272 (7. 23%) were poisonings. It also showed that the number of newborn disease increased every year, and it was a surprise to find that :the number of poisonings were of a high percentage. In classifying the cases by sex, the following are the results: 2,591 (69. 09%) were male and 1,163 (30. 91%) were female which is 2 : 1 ratio. To classify them by season; 1,058 (28.15%) cases happend in the summer, 1,012 (26. 92%) in the fall, 935 (24.15%) in the spring, and 751 (19. 98%) difference is relatively insignificant. To classify them by age; 2,305 (61. 295%) patients fell in the age group of 1 month to 6-years which held the highest percentage. |
