Abstract |
This study was conducted to find out the incidence of exercise-induced asthma in pediatric
population at Pohang in Korea. We selected an elementary school near pohang. The total number of
the elementary school children except who was ill at that time, was 631. They all took pulmonary
function test with Wright’s Peak Flow Meter before and after exercise.
The study was done from 21st to 30th May 1989. If the peak expiratory flow rate (PEFR) had
decreased by 15% or more after the exercise loading test (the method of Free Running for 6 minutes),
the result was considered as positive. There were 2 cases of exercise-induced asthma. Incidence of
exercise-induced asthma was 0.3%. |
