Abstract |
The narcoleptic syndrome consists of narcolepsy proper, cataplexy, sleep paralysis and hypnagogic
hallucinations. The disease is not common in children.
We experienced a case of narcolepsy in a 7-year old girl. Analeptic drugs are used for treatment.
Diurnal attacks of sleep and concomitant muscular weakness were controlled with methylphenidate
(ritalin hydrochloride) rather than caffeine, Historical literatures were also been reviewed, and
several clinical aspects of this particular syndrome were been discussed. |
