Abstract |
The pulmonary function tests were made after exercise provaction using bicycle in 22 :asthmatic and 6 healthy children. The results obtained were summarized as follows:
1) There was no significant difference in pre-exercise pulmonary function tests between asthmatic and control children. 2) Among 22 asthmatic children, 17-10 children(77.3%~45.5%) according to different test indices, showed significant air way obstruction after exercise. 3) In the time course of post-exercise pulmonary function changes, Vmax50%, PEFR, TEVI, FVC decrease and spontaneously recovered within 15〜 30 minutes.
4) There was no significant difference in serum IgE level between the group which developed post-exercise airway obstruction and the group which not. 5) Among 10 cases who felt usually post-exercise airway obstructive symptom, 9 cases (90%) showed significant airway obstruction in pulmonary function tests and among 12 cases who could not felt them, 8 cases(66.7%) showed significant airway obstruction.
