200 cases of aseptic meningitis were clinically observed for 171/2 years from 1966, Jan. to 1983, Jun. Eitologic classification showed that there were 165 cases (82.5%) of unknown etiology because virus was not identified, 30 cases (15.0%) of mumps, and 5 cases (2.5%) of Kawasaki disease. The most frequent age group was early childhood (81 cases, 40.5%) and more frequently in males (139 cases). Most cases developed during summer and autumn (163 cases, 81.5%) and the most frequent month was August. The findings of spinal fluid showed that cells were increased in all cases, and protein and sugar were mostly within normal limitation.
