Purpose : This study was aimed at determining whether tri-iodinated compounds with greater solubility and low osmolality, Na or meglumine ioxaglate(Hexabrix 320, Guerbet Lab., France) had deleterious effects on renal function after cardiac angiography for the evaluation of congenital heart disease(CHD) and determining whether correction of dehydration using iv hydration given before cardiac angiography were effective in prventing renal dysfunction. Methods...

The effects of Equiseti Herba water-heating extract on the kidey & liver of rats were studied in 25male Sprague-Dawley rats evenly divided into five groups, i.e., 5 rats each. The group I, which served as control and the group II, III, IV, were fed 300 mg/kg, 500mg/kg, 1000mg/kg of Eqiseti Herba water-heating extract daily for one week, respectively. The group...

Clin Exp Pediatr. 1991;34(7):940-948.   Published online July 31, 1991
Gentamicin, commonly used antibiotics in neonatal care, has a nephrotoxicity, but it is difficulto to assess renal function in early stage. This study evaluated the renal function and urinary β2-microglobulin excretion in 17 gentamicin treated and 11 control neonates. The results are as follows. 1) Urinary 02-M in gentamicin treated neonates were 0.84±0.17mg/L at postnatal day 1 and increased to 5.99±1.15mg/L at day 4, 14.17±2.39mg/L at day...
