Myelofibrosis is characterized by fibrosis of bone marrow, leukoerythrobla stotic anemia and extramedullary hematopoesis with varying degree of hepatosplenomegaly. Idiopathic myelofibrosis is primarily a disease of the adult and is rare in the pediatric age group.
