Umbilical vessel catheterization has become a common procedure in critically ill newborn infants.
We studied the usefulness and complications of indwelling umbilical vessel catheters in 164 patients
who were admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit of the Department of Pediatrics, Yonsei
University Hospital from January 1985 to December 1988.
