Abstract |
Acute tubular necrosis has been rarely reported in typhoid fever.
We experienced a case of acute tubular necrosis due to typhoid fever in a 5 years old male patient. The patient showed significant titer of widal reaction associated with acute renal failure. Renal boipsy finding was compatible with acute tubular necrosis and immune complex was not deposited. Clinical and urinary findings were normalized by ampicillin therapy and follow up renal biopsy also showed almost normal tubular morphology.
In addition to case report, brief review of literatures were added. |
