Abstract |
Pulmonary function test is essential not only to find out the conditions of pulmonary desease such
as asthma and determine the drug effects but also to diagnosis various diseases through the provocation
tests or the elimination tests which are taken by foods, drugs, exercises or various kinds of
antigens. With the total 531 cases, among them 277 boys and 254 girls who are at the age of 4 through
15, the author contrasted VC, FVC, FEV₁ V25 and V50 with age, height, weight, and body surface area
by making use of CSA-800 spiroanalyzer, a Product made by Fukuda Sangyo Company in Japan, and
tried to put the results into Clinical Practice after calculating each of their simple regression
equations setting the expected normal value.
The results are followings
1) In boys, the correlation coefficients are 0.84 or more in VC, FVC, FEV, and the correlation
coefficient by height are more heigher than the other measurements.
2) In girls, the correlation coefficients are 0.75 or more in VC, FVC, FEV, .
3) In boys, the correlation coefficients are more higher than that of girls.
4) The correlation coefficients by height are most high, but the results are similar about ther
measurements.
5) We made the expected normal values of the pulmonary functions (VC, FVC, FEV₁, PEFR, V25,
V50 in the pediatric age group. |
