Abstract |
The creatinine clearance rate, an index of glomerular filtration rate, has been reported to develop
according to gestational and postnatal age.
The purpose of this study is to examine changes in creatinine clearance with gestational age and
postnatal age in preterm and full term healthy neonates.
The results were as follows:
1) The creatinine clearance rate increased according to gestational age.
2) The most in creament of creatinine clearance rate was shown in gestational age between
33 weeks and 37 weeks.
3) The creatinine clearance rate increased according to postnatal age during first 1 week of life.
4) The preterm neonates less than 34 weeks of gestational age had slower increasing rate than full term
neonates.
