Abstract
To evaluate the influence of HBV to fetus, authors studied 817 pregnant women and neonates who were admitted to delivery room of Keimyung University Dongsan medical center from 1882 to 1984. The results were as follows; 1) Percent of HBsAg positive mother was 6.8% (50/817) and child bearing age was 7.8% (72/917). Percent of Anti-HBs positive was 33.9% and Anti-HBc was 37.5%. 2) Percent of HBsAg positive babies from the HBsAg positive mother was 4%. 35 neonates of the 50 HBsAg positive mother were followed and one infant was converted to HBsAg positive at 3 months of age and 6 months of age. 3) Low birth weight and prematurity were not considerable different rate between positive and negative group. But PROM was considered statistically high in positive than negatíve group. 4) There was no significant difference in stillbirth, congenital anomaly between two groups. 5) Operation and transfusion history had influence on carrier rate but acupuncture history had a higher carrier rate than those of others without acupuncture history. 6) HBsAg carrier rate in low socio-economic and hygine condition was higher but educational level showed no influence on carrier rate.
