Abstract |
Total of eighteen children with orthostatic proteinuria were evaluated for clinical characteristics.
The development of renal or urologic diseases were monitored on these subjects for 1 year.
The results were as following;
1) The number of children with transient orthostatic proteinuria and fixed orthostatic proteinuria
were 7(39%) and 11(61%), respectively.
2) In children with fixed and reproducible orthostatic proteinuria, mild proteinuria were noted in
73% but no massive proteinuria was found.
3) All children with transient orthostatic proteinuria excreted protein less than 150 mg/day.
4) In all children, renal or urologic diseases were not identified.
5) From the result of 1 year follow-up, though the follow-up period was short, orthostatic proteinur-
ia did not seem to reflect incipient renal diseases. |
