Gastric Duplication in the Newborn

Duplications of the stomach account for only 3.8% of gastrointestinal duplication, mainly discovered during first year of life. Etiopathogenesis is unknown. The most widely accepted theory is recannalization with fusion of longitudinal epithelial fold.
