Bartter’s syndrome in characterized by renal potassium wasting, hypokalemic alkalosis, hyper- reninemia, normal blood pressure and resistance to the blood pressure augmenting effect of angioten- sin, accompanied by often hypomagnesemia and increased production of certain renal prostaglandins.
