Newborn premature babies have low levels of transplacentally acquired maternal immunoglobulin which is mostly transferred after 32∼34weeks gestation, therefore they may have IgG deficiencies that incerase their susceptibillity to bacterial infection. A Case of Reye’s syndrome in a 6-months old male infant was presented. This baby was admitted because of unconscionsness and convulsion. Laboratory findings showed increased S-GOT, S-GPT and blood ammonia level. Liver and kidney revealed fatty infiltration. A brief review of related literature was also presented.
