Clin Exp Pediatr. 2002;45(12):1497-1502.   Published online December 15, 2002
Purpose : We evaluated allele frequencies and distribution of surfactant protein A1(SP-A1) in Korean neonates in order to estimate prevalence of RDS to find out new SP-A alleles, and to establish new steroid therapy. Methods : Genomic DNA was extracted from 100 neonates and served as a template in PCR for genotype analysis. SP-A gene-specific amplications and gene-specific allele determinations were...

Steroid-induced lipodystrophy is preduced by long-acting injectable glucocortiocoids (triamcinolone acetonides) within three weeks after intramuscular injection. It can be caused by inappropriate use of injectable steroids. Although it is recovered spontaneously without medication or plastic surgery, it may lasts for several years. Recently we experienced four cases of steroid-induced lipodystrophy and present a brief review of related literatures.

Clin Exp Pediatr. 1984;27(1):79-83.   Published online January 31, 1984
An 1 8/12 year old girl had chronic, repetitive left atrial tachycardia and it was unresponsive to usual antiarrythmic drugs. The chief complaints were cyclic lethargy and irritability, occasionally associated with cyanosis and sweating. Her heart rate showed marked variation, depending upon the time of the day and her state of consciousness. ECG showed supraventricular tachycardia with ectopic pace-maker, proposed by...
