Joubert syndrome is frequently associated with developmental delay and mental retardation, neonatal tachypnea and apnea, abnormal eye movements, and ataxia. It is inherited by an autosomal recessive trait. The most significant and constant neuropathological finding is partial or total agenesis of cerebellar vermis.
