Anomalies of the inferior vena cava (IVC) are often discovered incidentally during imaging studies performed for other reasons, since patients with these abnormalities are usually asymptomatic. Infrahepatic interruption of the IVC with azygos or hemiazygos continuation is an unusual anomaly of the IVC. Out of 1617 cases of congenital heart disease, who were admitted to the Pediatric ward, Seoul National University Hospital, for cardiac catheterization during recent 5 years, 20 patients with anomalous inferior vena cava were observed.
