A Study on Purpura in Children.

We have seen 96patients who were admitted with purpura to the Pediatric Department of Kwangju Christian Hospital during the period of 10 years from Jan., 1971 to Dec., 1980. Acanthosis nigricans is characterized by hyperpigmented, velvety thickening of the skin of any part of the body and frequently associated with internal malignancy, endocrine diseases and obesity. In children, systemic abnormality rarely occur in associated with prepubertal Acanthosis nigricans. We experienced a case of idiopathic Acanthosis nigricans, and made a brief review of literatures.

A clinical observation was done on 38 children with idiopathic nephrotic syndrome, who had been admitted to our pediatric department during past 3 years period, from January 1978 to September 1980.
