The asplenia syndrome is rare, characterized by congenital abscence of spleen, cardiovascular anomalies and other malformations or malpositions such as total or partial situs inversus, symmetrical lobulation of the liver and/or lung. Diagnostic and Clinical Implications of Echocardiography in Staphylococcal Endocarditis.

We experienced two cases of staphylococcal infective endocarditis. The echocardiograms showed vegetations at the posterior leaflet of mitral valve and pulmonary arterial end of PDA, respectively. The serial two-dimensional echocardiograms revealed the fate of these vegetations on prolonged antimicrobial therapy. Also we reviewed the literatures.

A 40 hours old female neonate was admitted to the Pediatric Ward of Kyung Hee Unive- rsity Hospital due to severe jaundice. Laboratory work up showed typical pictures of immune hemolytic anemia.
