Outbreak of Non-typhoidal Salmonellosis in neonates

During the period from Jun. 24, 1991 to Aug. 31, 1991, we experienced 6 cases of non-typhoidal salmonella and 18 cases with symptoms suggesting salmonellosis. Currarino triad is a unique malformation complex of congenital caudal anormalies, including anorectal malformation (anal stenosis, anal ectopia, imperforated anus), sacral bony abnormality (scimitar or crescentic bony defect, malsegmentation) and presacral mass (meningocele, teratoma, enteric cyst or any combination of these).
